I just wanted to say thank you to all of the parents who came in for conferences. I know you are all busy and the time you devote to your children is amazing. They are wonderful! Again thank you for sharing your most precious of possessions each day with me… your kids.
Well Long Lake went very well. The kids seemed to really enjoy themselves even though many were not ready for the SNOW!
If your child is missing something fro mthe trip please let me know and I will try to locate it for them.
Here are some supplies we could use in our classroom. If you are able to donate, please send the item to school with your child.
Hand Sanitizer (pump bottle or large refill bottle)
Disinfecting Wipes (Clorox or other)
Thank you
Project Copernicus is a District 279 pilot project that allows students to bring their own computing devices to school as a collaborative tool to increase academic achievement.
Woodland’s 5th and 6th grade classrooms are nine of the fourteen classrooms district-wide taking part in the Project Copernicus’ pilot year. Often on the cutting edge, Woodland is affording our students a great opportunity to experience learning in a new way by transforming our classrooms, furthering student-centered learning with student-owned technology.
Bringing student-owned devices to school is optional. It is important to stress that this action is NOT required.
Check Mrs. Brown’s Blog for other information
Students will be testing the secong half of the Food and Nutrition unit on Oct 29th (Landers Class) and the 30th (Tollefson’s class)
Conference Forms went home with kids today. They state the time and date I have blocked off to meet with you for conferences. Please let me know ASAP if there is a conflict.
Thanks
Long Lake has been the hot topic for discussion at school, with our trip only a week and a half away! Here are links to a few important Long Lake resources:

Woodland will be hosting its annual Bingo and Silent Auction Night on Friday, novermber 13th from 5 – 8 PM. The money from the silent auction goes to help support technology, music, art, reading DARE and many other WD programs. The theme for our basket this year is “It’s a Zoo in Here!” You child will be bringing home a remind about this with all items being collected from Monday, October 26th through Tuesday, November 10th.
Thank you in advance!

Tomorrow we will start Character Education with Mrs. Birkinbine. She will be coming into the classroom to do some team building type of activities with the students.
