This summer, Osseo Area Schools will host its fifth-consecutive CDF Freedom Schools® Program at three sites throughout the district.
An initiative of the Children’s Defense Fund, Freedom Schools provides summer enrichment that helps children fall in love with reading, increases their self-esteem, and generates more positive attitudes toward learning. Currently enrolled Osseo Area Schools students who have completed grades K-7 are eligible to apply.
The summer program runs from June 18-July 26 at Birch Grove Elementary School for the Arts, Crest View Elementary, and Elm Creek Elementary. Parents/guardians are responsible for their child’s transportation to and from the program, which is held weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (excluding July 4).
Space is limited; families are encouraged to register their child(ren) as soon as possible before the April 13, 2018, deadline.
UPDATE (March 27, 2018): Freedom Schools spots have been filled at all three program sites for summer 2018. Please check back next winter to learn about Osseo's Freedom Schools program for summer 2019.
